MUIC’s E-Sports Club Holds Counter-Strike Tournament

Mahidol University International College’s (MUIC) E-Sports Club organized “Counter-Strike: Global Offensive (CS:GO)” online tournament November 13 to 20, 2023.

Forty-six students competed in this thrilling online e-sports event that brought together teams of five players each in intense tactical first-person shooter (FPS) gameplay. The tournament followed a single-elimination format, where teams compete head-to-head until a champion emerges. Matches were played in a best-of-three series, adding an extra layer of excitement and strategy to the competition.

CS:GO is renowned for its terrorist versus counter-terrorist gameplay, requiring teams to execute precise strategies to achieve their objectives. Teams will alternate between playing as terrorists and counter-terrorists, each with unique objectives such as bomb planting or defusal. The game's dynamic maps and diverse weapon choices contribute to the strategic depth, requiring teams to adapt and refine their tactics based on the map and the opponent's play style. As each match progresses, the tension builds, and the competition highlights the players' proficiency in teamwork, tactical thinking, and adaptability.The CS:GO tournament is not just a test of individual skill but a celebration of the teamwork and strategy that makes e-sports a captivating and dynamic experience.

MUIC Executives Attend MU’s 57th Anniversary Ceremony

The Mahidol University International College (MUIC) executive team led by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Yingyot Chiaravutthi, Associate Dean; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Chanchai Phonthanukitithaworn, Associate Dean for Corporate Communication and Information Technology; and AjarnWimonsiri Hemtanon, Associate Dean for Student Affairs; accompanied by Prof. Dr. Nopraenue Sajjarax Dhirathiti, Vice President for Global Partnerships and University Council of Mahidol University, and a faculty member of the Social Science Division of MUIC, along with staff members, laid a royal Pan-Pum (a traditional floral arrangement) in front of the statue of His Royal Highness Prince Mahidol of Songkla as part of paying obeisance to him and also in observance of the 57th Anniversary of the Royal Bestowal of the University Name and the commemoration of Mahidol University’s 138th Anniversary, on March 2, 2026 at the Office of the President.
