As environmental challenges grew, the importance of planetary health in education became increasingly clear. However, traditional academic structures often limited interdisciplinary learning. The "Planetary Health and Its Relevance to Interdisciplinary Teaching and Learning" workshop aimed to bridge this gap by equipping educators and researchers with strategies to integrate planetary health into curricula through the promotion of interdisciplinary teaching and collaboration.

Participants explored planetary health principles and their relevance across disciplines. The program featured a keynote presentation on the significance of planetary health, followed by a panel discussion where experts from public health, environmental science, and social sciences shared their experiences. A key component was the interactive group activity, where participants designed interdisciplinary teaching modules that incorporated environmental, health, and social science perspectives. These modules included learning objectives, instructional strategies, and assessment methods for practical classroom implementation.

Despite its importance, integrating planetary health into education posed challenges such as institutional barriers, limited interdisciplinary collaboration, and resource constraints. The workshop addressed these obstacles by identifying key stakeholders, resources, and actionable strategies. Special attention was given to Thailand’s environmental and public health challenges, ensuring locally relevant curriculum development.

By fostering collaboration and providing actionable strategies, the event empowered educators to rethink teaching methods and integrate planetary health into higher education, ensuring that students gained the knowledge and skills necessary to create a more sustainable and health-conscious future.
