BBA Forum Features Business Sustainability Experts

The Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) Program of Mahidol University International College (MUIC) hosted three distinguished guest speakers with impressive experience in business sustainability on October 30, 2023.

The session, organized in collaboration with the Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET) – ESG Academy, was part of the course on Market Structures and Pricing Strategies, conducted by Asst. Prof. Dr. Isabel Pereira Rodrigues. The guest speakers were: Mrs. Punsiri Suttienkul, Ms. Duangkamol Intrapram, and Ms. Ditthayanan Punyaratabandhu.

The event aimed to equip BBA students with knowledge about the Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) framework and current debates about business sustainability, highlighting its importance for the success of businesses, in particular within rapid changes in regulations and competition.

The lecture commenced with an insightful keynote address by Mrs. Punsiri Suttienkul, an experienced professional in executive management positions for over 30 years and a GRI Certified Sustainability Professional, on the concept of ESG framework and how it relates to business sustainability and other sustainability frameworks.

Ms. Ditthayanan Punyaratabandhu, currently the Assistant Vice President for Sustainability and Risk Management at Gulf Energy Development Public Co. Ltd. in Thailand, emphasized the relevance of business sustainability as a way for companies to create value for its stakeholders.

Ms. Duangkamol Intrapram, the Sustainability Director at Krungthai Card Public Co. Ltd., took the stage next, engaging the audience with the role of financial institutions for business sustainability and the importance of ESG measurement and reporting in those financial institutions.

The occasion provided an exceptional opportunity for the engaged audience of business students and lecturers to interact with and gain knowledge from these prominent and experienced speakers. By means of dynamic dialogues and case studies, the participants acquired invaluable perspectives on how ESG principles are put into practices across diverse industries.

MUIC expressed its deep appreciation of all the distinguished speakers as well as to the SET-ESG team for this exceptional learning opportunity, and looks forward to welcoming them again in the near future.
