Business Case Team from MUIC Wins 1st Runner-up Spot

A team from Mahidol University International College (MUIC) composed of Case Club members won 1st Runner-up in the CA-ASE Business Case Competition. The team’s case cracking began on February 10-23, 2024 with the semifinal round held on Zoom on March 23, and the final round on March 30, which was held at True Digital Park.

The MUIC team "The Avatars," which dedicated their time and effort training with the MUIC Case Club, was composed of four talented individuals:

1. Manatsawee Sae-Ngow (major in International Business, minor in Chinese)

2. Nutdanai Somnam (major in International Business, minor in Travel and Business Service Entrepreneurship)

3. Adhipat Chirachaithumrongsak (major in Intercultural Studies and Languages, minor in Psychology and Spanish)

4. Areeya Kaniyao (major in Marketing, minor in Psychology)

Participating in the competition’s university track along with over 300 teams, “The Avatars” worked in a dedicated manner to curate the best possible strategy to help Tao Kae Noi  seaweed snack penetrate into the Gen Z market by creating a stronger emotional connection while fostering customer loyalty to be the top-of-mind seaweed brand.

Throughout this competition, the team got the chance to learn perseverance, upskill their knowledge, broaden their perspective, connect with like-minded individuals and come together as a stronger team.

"I learned that success is not just about winning but the growth you have achieved navigating through challenges," Manatsawee Sae-Ngow said.

On the other hand, Nutdanai Somnam said, "My takeaway from the competition is that, achievement is not about getting ahead of others, it is about being the best version of yourself."

Another team member, Adhipat Chirachaithumrongsak, shared that, "I have learned a lot about resilience and not giving up in what you do until the end of the competition." 

"Through teamwork, I've learned that success isn't just individual triumphs, but collective efforts. It's about leveraging each other's strengths to achieve common goals and without teamwork we wouldn’t have achieved what we did," said the fourth team member, Areeya Kaniyao.

The MUIC Case Club expressed its gratitude to the CA-ASE organization for giving a chance to rising leaders all around Thailand to showcase their skills and have this journey for them to cherish forever.

The Mahidol University International College (MUIC) executive team led by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Yingyot Chiaravutthi, Associate Dean; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Chanchai Phonthanukitithaworn, Associate Dean for Corporate Communication and Information Technology; and AjarnWimonsiri Hemtanon, Associate Dean for Student Affairs; accompanied by Prof. Dr. Nopraenue Sajjarax Dhirathiti, Vice President for Global Partnerships and University Council of Mahidol University, and a faculty member of the Social Science Division of MUIC, along with staff members, laid a royal Pan-Pum (a traditional floral arrangement) in front of the statue of His Royal Highness Prince Mahidol of Songkla as part of paying obeisance to him and also in observance of the 57th Anniversary of the Royal Bestowal of the University Name and the commemoration of Mahidol University’s 138th Anniversary, on March 2, 2026 at the Office of the President.
