The Career Insights Club of Mahidol University International College (MUIC) brought a group of 48 students and 3 lecturers to SCG Headquarters Thanon Siam Cement in Bang Sue, Bangkok on October 11, 2024 in order to gain insights about the company and the careers there.

Mr. Thanabodee Younghom, Head of Strategy and Deputy Product and Technology Director, Q-Chang, talked about the fundamental value of innovation in the SCG conglomerate, explaining how innovation extends to virtually all facets of their products and services. The hosts also played a video which started with the question, “What makes a good life?” and showcased that the things around you, such as your house, to smaller home appliances, can be improved with better technology and innovation in order to achieve a better quality of life. SCG’s offerings, from smaller-scale innovations such as EasyPeel container lids, to EasyHeat meal bags, and EasyFoil food wrapping, as well as SCG Express delivery service, all of these promote better quality of life through innovation, according to the speaker. In addition to enhancing quality of life, SCG also prioritizes environmental well-being by advocating for recycling, clean energy, and sustainability overall.

Mr. Younghom also talked about his company, Q-Chang, and its striving for innovation not only in its services but also in its public relations. While Q-Chang introduces innovation in its home appliance installation services, it also finds innovative opportunities for both staff and customers alike. For instance, customers would ideally prefer paying later and minimizing costs, while maintenance crews aim to complete their work efficiently and receive timely compensation. Q-Chang seeks to innovate in balancing these needs, he said. This reflects a commitment to creating a more efficient and customer-centered experience, but also placing a high value on its employees, creating a supportive environment that encourages continuous learning and growth. Overall, the focus is on using technology and innovative strategies to address practical challenges and enhance quality of life for both consumers and employees.
