The Strategy and Academic Development Group organized the workshop entitled ‘How to Write MUPSF Application’. This workshop aimed at introducing MUPSF, a new teaching quality assessment, to the MUIC faculty members as well as guiding them with the application process of this teaching assessment.

Mahidol University Professional Standards Framework or MUPSF is developed to help drive the culture change within the faculty members to meet the higher-level of teaching quality standard. The desired competencies, skills, and attributes are set to contribute to Mahidol University Strategic Plan for 2018 – 2037, 2nd item: Innovative Education and Authentic Learning. To be qualified, the applicants are required to fulfill all the qualifications indicated for each of the levels along with the documentary evidence. MUPSF standards have a total of 31 criteria that divided based on the 4 Levels as follows:

• Level 1: Fundamental Teaching (15 criteria)

• Level 2: Teaching for a specific group (15+13 = 28 qualifications)

• Level 3: Cross-disciplinary teaching (28+2 = 30 qualifications)

• Level 4: Educational policy leader (30+1 = 31 qualification)

When applying for MUPSF assessment, the applicant’s qualification will be evaluated by the MUPSF Committee of MUIC. The qualified applicants will then advance to the stage of the assessment process which includes submitting MUPSF application form (Form01), Checklist Form (Form02), and Evaluation Form for the Committee (Form03) to the secretary. After the committee evaluate the applicant by consensus, the result will be submitted to the Academic Affairs of MU that will subsequently review the documents and send them to the related committee. Once the lecturers pass all the evaluation stages, they will be awarded with the MUPSF Level 3 or Level 4 as well as a monetary reward of 50,000 THB and 80,000 THB respectively. In addition, as MUPSF is adopted from the United Kingdom Professional Standards Framework (UKPSF), lecturers who are already certified with UKPSF, are eligible for MUPSF at the same achievement level as well.

To maintain credibility and accountability, the guidelines as well as all information related to MUPSF has been made available to all faculties via the MUIC web page or contact the Academic Strategy Unit at # 4327, email: duangduean.sae@mahidol.ac.th.
