MUIC Case Club recently hosted the annual Rookie’s Rumble Case Competition 2024 on October 10, 2024 at Screening Room A556, Aditayathorn Building. This was an exceptional opportunity for freshmen and sophomore students to get a first-hand experience into the consultancy world.

All the participant teams were given a case on Oppo where they were required to create a situational analysis, marketing strategies and financial implications over a 48-hour period. The top performing teams from each division then advanced to the final round to present their ideas.

The competition was held at Aditayathorn Building where the top 3 teams from divisions A to C presented their solutions before a panel of esteemed judges, with a platform to encounter real- world challenges and to gain insightful experience of the whole procedure. Additionally, it gave 1st year and 2nd year students a first-hand experience in participating in the process of business case competitions.

Throughout the competition, teams practiced a variety of skills learnt - from reading the case, cracking the case and lastly analyzing the case whilst honing their research abilities. Furthermore, the teams had to focus on enhancing their slide-crafting skills in terms of perfecting slide decorations, critical thinking and lastly refining their presentation skills with valid information presented. Overall, each team gained a handful of valuable lessons from their experience in the Rookie’s Rumble 2024.
