MUIC’s Science Division Conducts Annual Workshop

The Science Division of Mahidol University International College (MUIC) conducted its annual workshop on July 30, 2025, at RXV Wellness Village Sampran, Nakhon Pathom province.

The morning session was spent reviewing academic performance and planning for Academic Year (AY) 2025-2026 while aligning with MUIC's Mission of "Enriching Lives, Expanding Potentials, Shaping Futures" and was followed by wellbeing and mindfulness group activities in the afternoon.

The main highlights of the annual workshop included a performance review, strategic planning for AY 2025-2026, and unifying program goals.

During the performance review, the faculty members examined comprehensive data across all program tracks, including enrollment patterns, GPA trends, international exchange participation, and internship placements. The division also analyzed three years of field study programs and cost-effectiveness metrics.

The workshop provided opportunities for discussions on teaching philosophies, AI integration in education, student engagement strategies, and facility improvements. Faculty members also addressed assessment methods, student support services, and staff development initiatives.

The curriculum received much attention, with the division’s effort focused on applying innovations through the use of New Program Learning Outcomes (PLOs), major courses being enhanced to meet industry demands, and the emphasis on achieving a balance between AI integration and traditional teaching approaches.

To maximize student excellence initiatives, the faculty agreed that international exchange opportunities should be expanded, support for undergraduate research be increased, and that senior students’ project exhibitions be organized.

As the faculty members crafted the strategic plan for the upcoming academic year, the division agreed that in AY 2025-2026 program goals, six core competencies will be emphasized, namely: Problem-solving and Critical Thinking, Effective Scientific Communication, Teamwork and Collaboration, Professional Ethics and Responsibility, Continuous Learning and Adaptability, and Technical Skills and Application.

The workshop also reinforced the division's commitment to fostering global citizenship, lifelong learning, and sustainability while preparing students for future scientific challenges.
