A year has passed, full of exhilarating and amazing memories!

As the countdown to the much-anticipated “One Day Camp” ticked, over 400 participants —the most there has ever been—comprising 10 groups of freshmen, registered on May 11, 2024 at the Siriwitthaya Building (Liberal Arts Building), looking forward to what is in store for them with “CaoniaoMaMuang.”

“CaoniaoMaMuang” was the ultimate fun event organized by the Sophomore Class Committee (CMM658) filled with surprises and traditions to pass on to the newly entered and previous participants of 668 freshmen.

From 8:00 am to 8:00 pm, the freshmen all played different games at different stations hosted by CMM658 throughout the day. Games included “Demand and Supply,” a race between teams to cut geometric shapes and bargain them to get points; “Blinded Delivery” wherein one player guided another blindfolded player as he performed tasks; “Ice Age Obstacle Race,” wherein the goal was to race through all minigames and be the first to win; and special guest SMOjojojo with their thrilling game “SMOnopoly.”

A rainstorm in the afternoon did not dampen the ongoing merriment that everyone was having. Essential needs such as lunch, dinner, drinking water, and other necessities were also provided to everyone who had joined in the fun.

After all groups had played games from every station, all 10 groups came together to join in “Combine Activity,” an enormous event for more games, dances, and challenges to test out the skills of each and every group. This activity made it so that every freshman got the chance to meet and join with other groups, alongside getting to poke some heartfelt fun at each other and their respective P’Group.

By the end of the day, after handing out free dinner and beverages to the freshmen, CMM658 prepared and organized a solemn and emotional “Candle Ceremony” a welcoming event for the seniors and the juniors, a traditional activity, formally welcoming the new students into Mahidol University and MUIC. Along with the candlelit atmosphere and warm wishes, “Auskeedoes Kuska,” guest musicians in the ceremony, brought in emotions that filled the room, surpassing everyone’s expectations for its lovely and delightful ambience. Additionally, more than 40 alumni from Class of 588 to 628 were also present enjoying and meeting the newer generations of MUIC students while also participating in the ceremony welcoming and giving blessings. A symbolic gesture of passing the candle to the new generations was also part of the event.

In the end, when all the dignified and moving activity was over, more than 400 people danced in one last “Rubnong Medley” of 2024, from “MU Dee” and “Ali Gaga” to “Oh Ho Hey” and “Rak Nong.” All came and left with great memories that will last a lifetime, giving a strong sense of community among freshmen, seniors and alumni, will treasure this eventful moment forever and for years to come.
