Here in Mahidol University International College (MUIC), learning is not confined to the four walls of the classroom. Students are encouraged to go out and engage in extracurricular activities. One of the ways that MUIC students can make use of their talents, learn new skills, meet new friends and explore the world around them is by joining the student clubs. There are two dozen such clubs in MUIC specializing in hobbies and sports and social activities. We interviewed two student club leaders on what’s the best thing about joining a student club. Here’s what they said:

Mr. Sirawit “Captain” Graisawadi
4th Year, Media and Communication
President, Volunteer Club (Current)

Sense of Purpose and Connection

“The best part of being a member of MUIC’s Volunteer Club is the sense of purpose and connection it gives me. Since my first year, I've participated in various projects ranging from organizing a camp and educating children in rural schools to preparing fundraising events. Every activity reminded me how even small actions can make a real difference. I’ve met people from different majors and backgrounds who share the same passion for helping others, and working together has built strong friendships and teamwork skills. Volunteering has also pushed me out of my comfort zone, helping me grow more confident and empathetic. It’s not just about giving to the community—it’s about learning, laughing, and creating memories with people who inspire you. Being part of this club has made my time at MUIC more meaningful, fun, and unforgettable.”

Mr. Natthapol “Boom” Ngamsiriwong
4th Year, Business Economics
President, Career Insights Club (Current)
President, Music Club (2023 – 2024)

Building Diverse and Impactful Communities

“The best part of being a leader in the student clubs I’ve joined was the profound opportunity to build diverse and impactful communities. Over my time as president of both the Career Insights and Music clubs, I collaborated with almost 100 committee members from various majors and years of study. It was incredibly rewarding to unite such a diverse group of talents and perspectives toward a common goal. For example, in the Career Insights Club, we orchestrated a national competition that offered career development to students from 12 universities. In the Music Club, we fostered a creative environment that culminated in over 20 successful events. This experience taught me that true leadership is about empowering a wide range of individuals to create something meaningful and lasting together.”

From science to arts, from sports to social science, from games to social outreach, students have multiple student clubs to choose from. To learn more about each club, click this link: https://muic.mahidol.ac.th/eng/student-life/students-activities/club-and-activity-transcript/
