Application & Admission

Inbound students engage in studies at MUIC for a fixed period of time, from one trimester up to one academic year, as part of the study abroad programs at their home universities. They have a choice of approximately 400 courses each trimester in the Arts, Sciences and Management. Moreover, exchange students are encouraged to take the Thai Language and Culture course to broaden their understanding of Thailand and its people.

Visiting Students

Students who are non-reciprocal students can study at MUIC as visiting students for one trimester or up to a year. They remain enrolled at their home university while gaining international academic and cultural experience. Credit transfer is subject to their home university's approval.

Being enrolled at the home university
Visiting Students: A minimum GPA of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale.
Students from Partner Universities: Must adhere to the GPA requirements of their home university.

A copy of passport (valid for at least 6 months after study abroad completion at MUIC)
An official transcript (with the university seal and verified as true copies by the home university)
Certificate of English Proficiency (for students who are not native English speakers)*
- TOEFL iBT with a minimum score of 69 (Writing score 22)
- IELTS (Academic) overall 6 (Writing 6)
- PTE (Academic) overall 50
- Other qualifications showing equivalent English Language proficiency that have previously been accepted (Click here!)
A proof of student's enrollment, issued by the home university
A reference letter, issued by the home university
Proof of international health insurance**
(in English only and must have a branch office in Thailand)

Student ID photo in JPEG format with size 1200 x 1400 pixels. (Sample photo) (The photo background must be either in plain blue or white and a shirt must be plain white with a collar and without suit, tie, blouse, etc.)

Exchange Students

Students who are nominated by their home university to study at MUIC under a reciprocal exchange agreement established through a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU). They enroll for a specified period, gaining international academic and cultural experience while maintaining their student status at their home institution. Credit transfer is subject to their university's approval.

Important Policies & Waivers

*This requirement is waived for exchange and visiting students who are from native-English-speaking countries. Exchange and visiting students from English-medium institutions may provide a certifying letter from their home university, stating that they have met the minimum requirement of an IELTS (Academic) overall score of 6.0 (with a writing score of 6.0) or an equivalent qualification, as proof of their English proficiency.

**Proof of International Health Insurance (in English only) must cover inpatient (IPD), outpatient (OPD), and accident treatment at private hospitals and be issued by a widely recognized insurer in Thailand. A direct billing contracts allows hospitals to bill insurers directly if your provider has an office in Thailand, enabling you to receive treatment without advance payment. Otherwise, you may need to pay upfront and claim reimbursement later.

Fees Structure for Visiting Students (in Thai Baht)

The following fees apply to academic year 2024–2025. A fee adjustment is expected for academic year 2025–2026 (starting Trimester 1, September 2025), pending official announcement from Mahidol University.

Additional Fee Details

The tuition fee may vary, depending on the laboratory hours. required and/or how many subjects the student will register for.
The tuition fee is 5,700 baht per credit for lecture classes. Most classes are 4 credits = 22,800 baht per one subject.
Students might need to cover the expenses of additional textbooks as recommended by the lecturers.
The fees above do not include living expenses, books and housing.
The specific fees may be subject to change.
The tuition and fees are non-refundable after the Add/Drop period.
